Also check out Freshly Pieced and Sew Fresh Quilts, where I posted this quilt as part of a couple linky parties! They've both got a bunch of other links featuring different people's WIPs, in case you need inspiration to finish your own ;)
I also made this pillow to go with it. Jasmine (my niece, named after the princess, coincidentally) is a HUGE Elsa fan. However, because I'm so literal, I couldn't talk myself into adding Elsa to the actual quilt because she's technically a queen. I figured making a pillow was a win-win, because then she can give Elsa more love, and enjoy all the other princesses on the quilt at the same time!
The pattern for this one was purchased from Carolina Patchworks here. I appliqued all the dinosaurs on with Steam a Seam 2, and I didn't worry about sewing them down. I got a progress update from my quilter (Coleen at The Quilted Thistle) a few days back, and I think the quilting is dense enough that I don't need to put in extra effort to get the dinosaurs sewn down.
And for my current projects, I'm working on my very first all-Minky quilt for a very special baby girl (who hasn't been born yet)! The top is pretty much done, I just have to quilt it. Pics to come.
Also, I'm working on the Mario Quilt of Doom for another member in my family, and I finally started it a few days ago! Here's the first section of the first block I started, the first pic taken before I sewed the blocks together, the second taken after:
There's two more quilts on my to-do list for this year (including the Mario quilt), and I'm starting to worry I'm not going to get them done by Christmas D: I know I'll get the tops done, obviously, but I'm already running out of time to quilt them. Worst-case scenario, they'll go to their recipients for their birthdays or Christmas next year, but I really wanted to give 4 out for Christmas this year. That's been my plan since LAST year, actually.
How about you? Any Christmas presents you're starting to stress about already?
